General Information about Me

This is a page that contains general information about me and my life.

First of all, I was born in Atlanta, GA at Crawford Long Hospital on June 2, 1982 at 2:36pm. I have lived in Georgia all of my life as well as both my parents. I attended North Jonesboro Elementary School for grades kindergarten to 3rd. I then attended Kilpatrick Elementary School for my 4th and 5th grade years. My dad had been traveling from Clayton County to Solvey Pharmaceuticals for his job for several years and was quite tired of the distance. Therefore, we decided to move to Cobb County, GA in 1992. I attended Mabry Middle School for all of my middle school life. Let me just say that my 6th grade year wasn't exactly the best. However, I succeeded in making it through. 7th Grade was awesome! I had some really cool teachers. In fact, it was during my 7th grade year, that it became extremely apparent that I just seem to get along with people who are older than me than with people my own age. I just seem to relate better to people who are older than me. That is why I have now received the nickname from my 11th grade lit. teacher, "old soul." My 8th grade year was even more fun than my 7th grade year. Things just moved up and up since then.

Do I like High School? Actually, as crazy as it may seem, I do. High school is so much better than elementary and middle school because the people who work in high schools tend to treat you more like people than someone they can just boss around or ignore. Another cool point about high school is the fact that the teachers and faculty aren't afraid to "let you in" more as regards their personal life which allows for more than perhaps just a "teacher-student" relationship. This is really cool and has added a great deal of joy and meaning to my high school life.

My Hobbies

I LOVE MUSIC! What can I say? I rarely do much of anything without music in the background if possible. Music helps me deal with emotions and have fun. I love to play the piano in my spare time (which isn't much) and compose my own pieces. I don't have time to actually write my music down, but to play it is something I enjoy to a great extent. I like pretty much all types of music except extremes such as rap and heavy metal. (just to name a couple)

I presently work at Publix Supermarkets, Inc. The job isn't bad and pays pretty well. I have a chance to interact with people which is also something that I enjoy. In fact, I love people. I find a great deal of joy in helping people simply because I want to and not expect anything in return. I just love to see the smile on their faces and knowing that I can help them is really satisfying. I also love to help others feel good about themselves and feel appreciated. There have been many times in my life that I haven't felt this way about myself and that feeling is miserable. Therefore, I hate to see other people feel that way. It is for that reason that I am nice to everyone so long as it depends upon me. In fact, check out my web page dedicated to those who are often forgotten - teachers - when you get a chance. Please be aware that this page may change often, so please feel free to revisit or pass the address along to someone you know that teaches! - http://www.geocities.com/Wellesley/Atrium/3013/index.html

Believe it or not, I love Algebra! In fact, my grades in Algebra I were around a 95-96 both semesters of my freshman year in high school. In Algebra II, I received a 100-101 both semesters. First of all, I must give credit to my 7th grade math teacher Mrs. Foster because without her wonderful teaching abilities, I would have never made it this far. Also, my 9th and 11th grade teachers made it happen. A picture of my 11th grade math teacher can be found on the My Friends and Other Special People page. It's a rather silly picture of her, but she wouldn't have it any other way! She's great! To prove that I love Algebra, let me share this brief story with you. It was a day during finals week last school year. We weren't doing anything in Algebra class except studying for our final if we chose to do so. I was so bored. So I decided to let Lisa, a friend of mine, choose a really long, bonus math problem on a chapter test in the book for me to do. It took me about 20 to 30 minutes to work out the algebra problem on the chalkboard. When I finished, I told Lisa to look at the answer in the teacher's addition. The result of all my hard work?? I got the answer right!!! It was so awesome! Everyone looked at me as if I was crazy, and they were right. I am crazy and proud of it!!!

Other things that I like or like to do in my spare time - go for walks, sometimes write in a journal, write poetry etc., watch movies, vegetables(told you I was weird), pizza, candy in pretty much all forms, etc...

My Middle Names!

This definitely deserves a section to itself. I have quite a few middle names actually! First of all, my real middle name is Elise. However, I also have many other "middle names" such as weirdo, silly, C, Cat, hey you, trouble, hey kid, smarty, "old soul", hey lady, Christine(some just can't get my name right), and Gwen(I'm always confused with my younger sister).

My Accomplishments

I actually have several accomplishments that I'd like to mention on this web page. Before I do, I must mention that I didn't do these things on my own. I have had a great deal of help from my family, teachers, and friends. THANK YOU!

Some of my higher accomplishments are as follows:
Academic Letter
Who's Who Among American High School Students(nominated by Mrs. Saren)
Published Poem entitled "Broken" in the book, Celebration for Southern Young Poets
Gold Honor Card all four years at Lassiter High School
4.089 GPA currently cumulative
Various Character Awards
I've created at least 5 or 6 piano pieces

That's just about everything that I care to mention about me on this particular page. There really isn't much of anything that would interest anyone.
